Rhea's Kitchen

The owner wasn't quite ready to serve customers, but he still welcomed us and made a fresh pot of coffee while getting the kitchen set up. I ordered the rib appetizer, and they were so good I wished I'd made them my meal. Then my lobster dinner arrived, and that was just as delicious. I'm glad I got to try both. Definitely worth giving this place a chance.

We had a lovely stay at the inn, too. The rooms have been recently renovated and are really comfortable, and the innkeeper is very nice. For dinner, my husband had the baked stuffed lobster and I had the ribeye. Both were full of flavor and cooked just right. Rhea's food was easily the best we'd had nearby, especially after several mediocre tourist restaurants in Newport. We were lucky to find this hidden gem. Great food, service, and atmosphere, and we'd come back. Highly recommend.

We found Rheas kitchen after seeing a crowd both inside and outside corner cafe while looking for breakfast before our Viking tour of Newport and the mansions. We got a table right away, and the restaurant was comfortable and beautiful. The service was attentive, friendly, and great. Pancakes were the best I'd had in a while, and the rest of the food was excellent too. Good portions for a reasonable price. I'd happily go again and recommend it.

The food itself was freshly made and great, but we'd picked the place because we'd heard the Clams Casino was excellent. When we got there, they said it hadn't been available for six months. I don't know why it's still advertised. I also paid with a debit card and was charged the credit card surcharge. The waitress hesitated when I pointed out that my card was clearly marked debit and their policy said the fee applied only to credit cards. Check that they have the dish you came for, and look over your bill for extra charges.
