For a historic Newport home, the room was simple and comfortable, with a king bed, private bathroom, microwave, mini fridge, and a TV that worked perfectly. We got everything we needed for one night, and the price felt like a great deal, probably because we booked the day before. We arrived around 9 p.m. on Friday and were welcomed at the door by a very kind staff member. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The location made it easy to walk or get where we wanted to go quickly. We skipped breakfast because we planned to line up early elsewhere for cinnamon rolls, but the inn was a handy place to wake up and head out from. It’s one of Newport’s older houses, and its historic character gives it a nice charm.

Milton welcomed us at check-in and pointed out where to find food and drinks. Our room was cozy and spotless, and breakfast had lots of fresh choices, from fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, and muffins to sandwiches, plus coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. We had a great stay and would come back when it’s warmer so we can enjoy more of what Newport has to offer.

The location was quiet, and the front desk staff were friendly enough, but the room was rough. As soon as we checked in, there was such a strong, unidentified smell that both my friend and I felt sick within 20 minutes. The room itself was bare-bones, the bathroom was very dated, and its vent fan sounded like a truck engine. At check-in, there was also a poster offering free drinks, candy, and other things to guests who leave positive reviews. I think that could have skewed their Google rating quite a bit.

We had a lovely, quiet night here. The inn is in a great spot with plenty of parking, and our room was clean and comfortable. Thanks for having us. We’ll definitely be back!

Keith was a wonderful host, and the historic home has a quaint feel, spacious rooms, and a comfortable king bed. There was plenty to choose from at the continental breakfast. One small suggestion: some bathroom shelving would give guests more room to set down toiletries and the accessories people bring along when traveling.
