Comfort Inn Fairbanks

The shower was barely lukewarm, nowhere near hot enough, and the noise overnight made the stay miserable. Loud, strange sounds kept me from sleeping. Staff said it was wood expanding and contracting with temperature changes, but it was extremely annoying and loud. Very disappointing.

The receptionist was friendly, but didn’t take action when breakfast ran out. She spent time on her phone or outside smoking, which was a shame because the place has potential. Day one’s breakfast was better than the American average; by the second day, it was practically nonexistent. There was no bread, fruit, hot food, or waffles available, and three of the four coffee pots were empty. The room itself still seemed fairly new, was clean, a good size, had enough towels, and even had a window you could open. Outside the rooms, though, the elevator and areas around the trash cans were dirty.

I left my bracelet behind by accident, and the staff helped find it and return it to me. It wasn’t valuable, but it means a lot to me personally. I’m very grateful and touched by their honesty and care.

The location is about 4 miles from the airport, roughly a 15-minute trip. Parking is on site and costs nothing. Rooms were cozy, very clean, and had high-quality bedsheets. The new lobby has contemporary furniture, though it’s rather small, as you’d expect at a 2 star hotel. Staff were pleasant and checked customers in quickly. Breakfast had limited variety, but what they served was good quality, which matters most to me. Recommended.
