Suburban Studios Fairborn - Dayton

We’d stay again if we needed to. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the outside appearance doesn’t reflect what it’s like inside. We’ve stayed at lots of hotels and motels around the country, but this was our first time finding an apartment-sized refrigerator in a room. That was an awesome touch. The beds were so comfortable, like lying on a cloud, and we got a really good night’s sleep.

The front desk agent was very nice and understanding, so I don’t blame him for what happened. But this hotel is the catfish of hotels. The website pictures looked nothing like the property, and after checking both the lobby and the room, I was the first person in my many hotel stays to walk out. The bathroom floor was sticky, the entry light didn’t work, and I had to use my phone flashlight to get inside. There was a blood stain on the headboard, and both the lobby and room smelled like moldy carpet rather than clean. The parking lot wasn’t well lit. The owners should have renovated enough before opening. It might suit people with low standards, but I’ve stayed at Motel 6s that looked nicer.

I lived at this extended-stay hotel for a few months. The rooms are nicely renovated, and the prices are great, so the place can be good to stay to an extent. It’s nice that they allow pets, but I’ve seen people leave dogs in cages and let animals use the newly renovated rooms as a bathroom. I don’t understand how that’s acceptable when some people can’t even take care of themselves. There are also domestic situations, alcoholics in the parking lot, and people from who knows where who seem to be drug addicts or dealers.

The staff are awesome and very helpful. The new owners have remodeled and upgraded some rooms, and plan to work on the back half soon. They’ve replaced a lot of the nasty carpet and broken-down beds and dressers, which makes it much easier for us to keep rooms clean during an extended stay. The laundry room is bigger now, and there’s food and snacks for sale up front. It’s too bad the pool is closed, but that’s understandable for the price. Whether you need a short stay or a long one, I recommend checking out the newly remodeled rooms.
