Holiday Inn Express Fairfax - Arlington Boulevard by IHG

The location made getting around easy, with GMU nearby and the metro station a short distance away. I also appreciated that the market stayed fully stocked for late-night snacks, and there was coffee available around the clock. Breakfast was hot every morning. My room was spotless and comfortable, and General Manager Betty and her team were friendly, helpful, and ready to assist whenever I needed something. This was a really enjoyable stay, with great service and a welcoming feel. I’d recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the area. Thanks to Betty and her team.

The breakfast buffet was complimentary, and checkout at noon was relaxed. The rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly and straightforward. I booked through Expedia and was charged only a $50 hold at the hotel. Great location. I’d stay again. 💜

The room was clean, but I could easily hear people coming and going from their rooms. I was in room 407, where the mattress was wider than its frame. The AC/heating unit also needs its filter cleaned, there was a musty smell whenever it ran.

Rob was easily the standout employee during our December 2025 stay. He checked that things were going well, did his best to fix any problems, and told us about places offering discounts to Holiday Inn guests. He was a really good guy. Our first room smelled like cigarette smoke, possibly drifting over from nearby guests. We told Rob, and he moved us to another floor. Breakfast was decent, nothing special. Rob mentioned they sometimes have an omelette bar, but we didn’t get to try it. The beds were the main issue. My wife and I barely slept because they felt like concrete, and the older hotel could use a decor refresh.
