Hyatt Fair Lake

The shower pressure was much weaker than I expected, though it wasn’t enough to ruin the stay. Otherwise, this newly renovated Hilton Fairfax worked well for a short business trip. The room was modern, clean, comfortable, and laid out sensibly, and the gym had a good range of cardio and strength equipment for a solid workout. I arrived around 11 p.m. and got through check-in in minutes with no line. There was also a staff member seated in the foyer on my floor overnight, which felt reassuring. It’s a practical place for work travel, and I’d stay here again if I’m back in the Fairfax area.

Zach at the bar really made our stay at Hilton Fairfax. He was warm and attentive, learned who we were over the three nights, and made our group feel at home. His drink suggestions were great, and he pointed us toward some local breweries too. He even put on the NFL playoff game one night and turned up the volume so we could enjoy it together. His easygoing, accommodating manner added a lot to our visit. We had a fantastic time.

We came for a youth hockey tournament and stayed three nights. Zach, the bartender, was a big part of why it was such a fun visit. He made excellent drinks and conversation, and clearly knows his way around the bar. The rest of the staff were welcoming and friendly too. We hope Zach is still there next time we visit Hilton Fairfax.

We’ve stayed at this Hilton three or four times now, and the clean hotel, convenient location, and warm atmosphere keep bringing us back. Adel Ahmed was especially kind and professional at check-in. He made us feel welcome and treated us with real care. At checkout, though, my husband had a disappointing encounter with the tall African woman at the front desk, whose name I wish I remembered. There was no one else waiting, but she acted busy, avoided helping him, and called someone else instead. It felt dismissive and unnecessary, especially given how well the rest of the team treated us. We still enjoy this hotel and plan to return. Staff like Adel Ahmed are the reason guests feel valued, and I hope more of that kind of hospitality is recognized.
