Ramada by Wyndham Fairfield NJ

Breakfast was just basic waffles, with little else, and the morning and breakfast staff weren’t very nice. The woman on the night shift at reception was pleasant, though she looked tired. Most of the room seemed pretty clean, but behind the table under the TV there were food crumbs and a bite of a sandwich that looked like it had been sitting there for months. I had to move the table to plug in the TV.

The water was barely warm at the location where we spent a thousand dollars, and the heater rattled like a train while barely warming the room. The showers were almost cold. They seem to lower the water temperature on weekdays and turn it up only a little on weekends. Laundry wasn’t worth it either: washing and drying cost 3.50 dollars each, and the dryer didn’t dry the clothes. I learned my lesson with Ramada. At another stay, after we paid for the room and deposit, they took 300 dollars, and we found burnt drug paraphernalia in the room. No refund or apology. This place used to be Laquinta and was nice just a year ago. I wouldn’t stay now even for free. Don’t expect breakfast to help, either, it’s waffles and cereal with no protein. Don’t waste your time or money.

The pool was the main reason my family and I booked here. We called ahead, asked twice whether the indoor pool was open and what hours we could use it, and were told yes. When we arrived, we found out it wasn’t operational. The room cleaning was disappointing too. There were stains on the curtains and walls, the hallway carpet hadn’t been vacuumed, and the shower had a dirt ring around the drain. We were let down by both the pool information and the cleanliness.

The room felt old and beat up. The dresser and bathroom mirror were chipped, and the ice machine on our floor was broken. There was black mold or something on the bathtub floor, so we put a bath towel down to avoid touching it. Dust covered the heating and air vent, and when we turned it on, dust blew everywhere. Breakfast was waffles, bread, apples, and oranges, with warm coffee and no juice. That’s continental breakfast, and it should be described that way, not as a full breakfast. I stay at different Wyndham properties sometimes, but this one was just awful. I won’t come back.
