Residence Inn by Marriott Akron Fairlawn

My dogs were treated like little kings by the staff, and they loved all the attention and treats. The room and workout facility were clean, and I really liked having a kitchenette. Breakfast was good, though it would’ve been nice to have healthier choices like Greek yogurt and fresh fruit. That’s not a deal breaker. The room was perfect for me and my dogs, and Tamala, the phenomenal GM, made my Thanksgiving holiday stress free. I’ll definitely stay here on my next trip home.

What made the place feel welcoming was how individual and personally managed it seemed, unlike many standard US hotel chains. My colleagues and I arrived a day late because of a flight delay, and the hotel kindly waived the first night’s charge, which we really appreciated. The staff at reception and throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful. My apartment had a fully equipped kitchen, and the room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good by typical American hotel standards. I had a very pleasant stay and would gladly come back.

I travel often for work, and hotels are usually just somewhere to sleep. Here, the staff made it nice to come back after a hard day. James was especially wonderful. He treated my whole team and me with respect and gave us the best hospitality I’ve had at a hotel. He really made it feel like home, which means a lot when you’re traveling for work. My stay was fantastic, and I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Rooms are comfortable and clean, and the front desk and breakfast staff are cheerful and helpful. The lobby is beautiful and spacious, with a generous breakfast bar and great coffee. It’s well appointed and easy to reach from I-77 and Route 18, with I-71 not far away. I’d highly recommend it for a stay in West Akron, Fairlawn, Medina, or nearby.
