The coffee maker in room 240 was broken, and the carpet had huge stains. One of the sheets was stained too, as the photos show. This was a one-night stay, thankfully. We’ve used BW hotels on vacations around the country for years and usually been happy, but this one was a letdown. It’s also the only BW or similar hotel we’ve stayed at without a microwave, and there was no complimentary breakfast, which is standard at pretty much every other BW. I can’t recommend this location unless they make significant changes to how it’s run.

The truck stop next door meant trucks were coming and going all night, and it made the area feel less safe after dark. There was no breakfast either, which surprised me for a Best Western. The room was cramped for the price, and the sheets had visible stains. Worse, the toilet seat clearly hadn’t been cleaned. When I told staff, they brushed it off and said housekeeping wouldn’t be available until the following day, no help for a one-night stay. I was there for a quick overnight trip, and it was one of my worst hotel experiences. I wouldn’t recommend it. The cleanliness, service, noise, and value were all poor.

The Green Mill Restaurant right at the hotel was a nice extra, and it made getting a good meal easy. I had a really relaxing stay at Best Western Fairmont Hotel & Event Center. My room was comfortable and clean, the staff were friendly, and the location worked well for exploring Fairmont, MN. I’d happily recommend it for a pleasant stay in southern Minnesota.

Whenever we’re in town, we stay here. The hotel is clean, the staff are always helpful, and there’s a nice restaurant right inside.

Only stayed one night, but it was a very nice hotel. The pool area looked clean and well kept.
