The complimentary breakfast was awful, and the room was already dirty when I arrived, with dusty floors, stained, worn towels, and a generally run-down feel. When I brought it up, the staff weren’t helpful. Bob Petel, who said he was the owner, refused to have it cleaned because I hadn’t complained in the first 20 minutes after check-in. He said I’d have to stay in that room for three days before anything could be done. That was completely unacceptable, so I checked out a day early rather than stay in those conditions. I’ve never had a worse hotel stay. I’d recommend finding somewhere else that treats guests with respect.

The room was clean, and the guy at the front desk was good. But my scheduled shuttle pickup never came. I waited from 20 minutes before the pickup time until 20 minutes after, then took an Uber, which arrived in five minutes. There were also cars in the lot playing loud music for over 30 minutes sometime between midnight and 3 a.m. The price was reasonable, though they require a deposit at check-in, and it’s close to the airport.

The location was good, the place was very clean, and breakfast was free. Bob, the manager, was especially kind and helpful. Our reservation wasn’t showing in their system, but he went out of his way to help us in the middle of the night. Prices were reasonable too.

The next morning, as I was packing the car near 11 a.m., my boyfriend needed the restroom while I sat watching TV. I saw the clock change from 10:59 to 11, and right then a man called to say checkout was at 11 and housekeeping wanted to get done that day. After everything else, that felt like more harassment during a stay where I already felt targeted. Earlier, an older white woman heard a noise, seemed threatened, and knocked to ask if we were all right. My boyfriend and I were minding our own business, but as an interracial couple, we felt unsafe given the climate in the country. I worried she might invent a story and call the police, with who knows what result. I asked to change rooms, and the owner yelled that none were available, even though there seemed to be plenty. We had our dog with us, and he said there were no pet-friendly rooms. I offered to take the dog home, only 12 minutes away, since our house was full for Thanksgiving and that was why we were at the hotel. He didn’t seem to believe me and wanted me to sign something saying I’d take the dog home. Then, miraculously, a pet-friendly room became available and we moved, after he scolded me in front of his employee. We stayed one more night, but I had a feeling there’d be another issue, and there was. This place is disgusting. I’ll never return.
