Hampton Inn & Suites Falls Church

The person managing the place was a very nice fellow, but at checkout the front desk knew nothing about the promised parking credit, so I had to argue about it. I’m still waiting for the refund. We also had to sit on the floor outside both rooms twice because the doors weren’t working. I booked for the location, pool for the kids, and a nice breakfast, but the pool was closed and nobody had updated the website or told us. Pretty disappointing.

First time here, and it’s the worst hotel I’ve stayed at. Breakfast itself was fine, but the workers weren’t friendly. At 9:55, with breakfast ending at 10, I tried to take a few plastic plates and bowls upstairs for leftovers, so I wouldn’t have to order food or wait for housekeeping. One worker told me there were none left, even though there were plenty on the other side of the counter. Then she told a coworker about it in Spanish, and they both looked at me like I’d done something wrong. It wasn’t that serious. Is this how guests are treated?

The location was great, and breakfast had lots of options that worked for all ages. But the rooms were a letdown. We had to switch from the first room because its blinds wouldn’t close, and the replacement room had chewed-up blinds that were hard to roll. The beds were hard, we weren’t sure we’d actually been given queen beds, and the pillows were either flat or lumpy. We had to get different pillows to sleep comfortably. The microwave seemed like it was about to catch fire. When I told the front desk, I was told to use the lobby microwave and that a note would be left for the room. The pool was so cold I’m surprised ice wasn’t forming, and my kids wouldn’t swim even though the pool was a big reason we picked this hotel. We won’t recommend it or stay here again.

We got a spacious room with a comfortable bed and lots to watch on the TV. The front desk associate who checked us in last night was personable, and she’s the only person who’s ever given me the waters for silver status. Breakfast was another story. The associate, Maria or Stephanie, I believe Maria, was rude and overbearing. They ran out of waffle batter an hour before breakfast ended, and instead of refilling it she said she wouldn’t because she needed to clean the containers for tomorrow. She also watched me like a hawk. Someone should speak to her about micromanaging. It’s a nice hotel otherwise, and I hope the feedback is taken seriously.
