Country View Inn

We first started stopping at the Country View Inn more than 12 years ago because it’s about halfway between our home in Georgia and our son’s place in northern Virginia. We’ve tried several rooms over the years and liked every one. My wife enjoys the shops in Fancy Gap, about half a mile away, and we make a point of eating at the restaurant across the interstate each trip. Good food, fair prices. We love coming here.

It’s a convenient stop between Myrtle Beach and Weirton, West Virginia, so I’ve stayed here on and off for years. Yes, it’s dated, but the place is clean and the owners are really sweet. I’ve seen a couple of negative reviews, and they don’t match my experience. I’ve never had a problem here and feel perfectly comfortable staying. Highly recommend it.

It feels more like staying in somebody’s home than a hotel, from the living-room-like lobby to the nicely decorated room. The bed was super comfortable, with different pillows and a thick comforter, and there was plenty of lighting. Everything was clean and the room smelled fresh. I’ve stayed in hotels all over the country, and this is easily one of my top five. For the price, it’s unbelievable. I’d stop here again whenever I need a place.

Room 2 is the one to ask for if you like old-fashioned decor. The place has the feel of a great aunt’s spare room, in a good way. It also sits at just the right distance from where I start driving, so it makes a perfect overnight stop on a long trip.
