The coffee machine’s water stopped working properly and spit out hot water that burned me. I told the desk clerk someone else could get seriously burned, but they just said, “Oh well, somebody will fix it.” Nobody did while we were there for another hour, even as we talked with other guests. Staff weren’t around unless called, then took their time, and there was no service. There was also someone smoking pot in the hall. They’d run out of breakfast items despite not being busy.

It worked fine for one night after a family event. The employees were pleasant, and the rest of the room was comfortable enough, but it smelled musty and the floor by the sink was wet. The door also had to be forced to open and close. The continental breakfast area looked a bit run down and could use a remodel.

For $65 a night, I wasn’t expecting anything more, so it was refreshing to see updates being made instead of letting the place fall apart. It’s a small, older hotel, with patched flooring, walls, and curtains mixed in with newer appliances and fixtures. The place was clean, and you could smell that it was being cleaned and disinfected well. It feels like someone cares about the business and is putting in effort. I like that.

The reception staff weren’t pleasant, unfortunately. Apart from that, it’s a great budget hotel: there’s ample parking, it’s close to the freeway without traffic noise, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There’s a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee machine in the room, plus an okay continental breakfast, laundry and vending machines, a DQ on the property, and a lovely indoor pool.
