Courtyard by Marriott Farmington

The third room was finally quiet and didn't smell, but we found no linens for the pullout bed. By then we'd already moved twice. Our first room had a sewer-gas smell that got worse the longer we were there. The front desk woman was pleasant and agreed she could smell it, then brought us a key to a room across the hall. My son and I needed two beds, but kings with pullouts were all that remained, which we accepted. That room was so loud, with music, laughter, loud voices, and some kind of vibrating noise, that there was no chance of sleeping. We asked for another room without unpacking or even turning on the lights. On the way up to the third room on the second floor, I noticed how dirty the place looked: disgusting floors and gross walls. The first impression and lobby had looked nice, and the front desk girl was nice when we arrived. At first I wondered if the smell was from being on the first floor near the pool. I've never written a review before, but this seemed worth mentioning. I'm not sure where else to stay in town, but this may not be the place.

The first impression was nice and the woman at check-in was pleasant. After we told her the room smelled like sulfur, similar to sewage, she moved us to another room where the neighbors were having some kind of fiesta. We asked for more help, but instead of asking them to quiet down at 11 p.m., she said our only choice was a room upstairs. The sofa bed there had no sheets or blankets, even though the wall notice said it did. Looking closer, even the elevator button panel shifted when pressed. The place seems pretty worn down.

The hotel was disgusting, with no real breakfast, just moldy muffins, and a pool that wasn't working. In one room, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. The first room we were given had a broken heater. Staff came up and spent an hour trying to fix it without success, then the man said it had been acting up for four days. Why put us in a room with a known heater problem in the first place? They moved us, but that room was dirty too. This place doesn't deserve even one star.

Really enjoying my stay. The hotel looks recently renovated and has a nice style that brings in New Mexico culture. Some rooms have small or medium balconies. There's an indoor pool, guest laundry, ballroom, and a little patio off the lobby with wood-burning fireplaces. Very nice place, I'd recommend it to anyone.
