Hartford Marriott Farmington

There were a couple hundred of us there for the weekend, with several dinners and banquets. I hosted one dinner, and the wait staff went out of their way to make our guests comfortable and happy. They were unbelievably wonderful. The bellboy I met was great as well, and I heard only good comments from the other guests. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Five stars.

We spent Christmas here and ran into so many problems. The service was shockingly bad, and the property was in poor shape. Ask the front desk what they’re charging, because they keep your card number after checkout. A new employee who was training overcharged me by hundreds of dollars. The carpets looked very dated, the curtains had holes and questionable stains, the walls were bare, and the AC didn’t work. The restaurant staff were horribly rude, especially the woman bartender. It’s unfortunate that this Marriott has fallen so far below Marriott standards. I’d recommend staying somewhere else.

The beds were really comfortable, and the rooms were clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly, the rates were reasonable, especially with a wedding block, and the Wi-Fi stayed connected the whole time. I only wish the shower head had more settings, though the water pressure and temperature were perfect as they were.

For a work meeting, the hotel space was roomy and divided up well, and the sound system worked nicely. The food was excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I’ve been to conferences at hotels all over the country, and this team ranks among the best I’ve encountered.
