The rooms are basic, with rates around $50, or upgraded for about $70. I chose the $70 room, which was very clean, well maintained, and stocked with towels, soap, and shampoo. It’s a quirky motel off the beaten track, with carport-style parking so you can pull up by your door and unload the trunk. Rates are very reasonable. The lot could be in better shape, but nothing’s perfect. Highly recommended.

We arrived at 3 am after a ten-hour drive, hoping for a few hours of sleep. The place looked sketchy, but we decided to try it. The drive down to the room had junk thrown all over the property, and I was sure we’d get a flat. Room 20 felt like a horror movie: freezing cold, beer cans everywhere, stained sheets, and thick dust caked on the lampshades over the bed. I walked in and straight back out. I can’t believe they’re in business or that people give them good ratings. Pay a bit more for a decent night’s rest, or you might end up with bed bugs or who knows what. The one good thing was that after arguing and checking the room himself, the guy did refund us.

The front desk was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and perfectly usable for the price. It may look like it hasn’t been renovated since the ’70s, but I’d rather pay less for a dated motel than give it one star for not having an unnecessary renovation. If you want something shiny and new, downtown has that, but it’ll cost about a hundred dollars more a night.

We had nowhere else to go, so we ended up here for a few nights. The rooms were decent and reasonably clean, with no bugs, which was what mattered to us. They weren’t worth what we paid, and there are much better places, but if you’re stuck, it’s better than nothing.
