We stayed three nights and were very happy with the place. It was quieter and cleaner than other motels we've used on our trips. They changed the towels daily, picked up the trash, and made the beds.
The room wasn't spotless and several things seemed overlooked. Breakfast was more limited than advertised and shut down early on the last morning. For a place with those shortcomings, it felt especially unfair that they kept my $50 deposit over supposed “stains” on the bed. One involved an unavoidable personal medical issue, and the other was minor and washable. White sheets are made to be cleaned, but instead of treating this like a normal part of hospitality, they used it to charge me extra. I've stayed in plenty of budget hotels and don't expect luxury, just basic fairness. I wouldn't stay again. This gave me the impression that keeping deposits matters more to them than keeping customers. If you're expecting reasonable treatment with your deposit, think twice.
The phone response was cold and dismissive, as if this were normal. Maybe it is here. Hotels should know the difference between damage and something that washes out. This wasn't destruction, it was life happening, and the hotel's inability or unwillingness to see that is embarrassing. They kept my $50 deposit for “stains on the bed.” One was from my daughter, who has a legitimate bleeding disorder and unexpectedly started her period during the night. The other was minor food staining. These were white hotel sheets, which can be bleached and sanitized. Instead of showing any decency or professionalism about a normal human situation, they kept the money. That tells me plenty about how this place operates. I own a cleaning business, and the room wasn't even that clean to start with. They advertise waffles that weren't available, cut corners on cleaning, and shut breakfast down 40 minutes early, yet nitpick a minor stain to pocket another $50. That isn't policy, it's opportunistic. It feels like either the place is struggling badly or the people running it think squeezing guests is part of the business model. This isn't just about the $50 now. The hotel showed its character over something minor. If this is how they treat people over that, I'd hate to see how they handle a bigger issue. Stay if you want, but expect subpar service and that they may look for an excuse to keep your money when you leave.
The hotel refused to honor the cancellation terms that applied when I booked. They charged the full reservation even though the policy said a same-day cancellation on check-in would cost only one night's fee. Expedia first issued a refund receipt confirming the adjustment, so I thought it would be handled fairly. But after more than three weeks of trying to sort it out with Expedia and the hotel, the hotel wouldn't approve the adjustment or follow the original terms. The lack of transparency, accountability, and support was extremely disappointing. I understand cancellation fees, but charging the full amount contrary to the agreed terms and making a customer chase a resolution for weeks is unacceptable. Future guests should read the policies carefully and be cautious booking here.
We chose this hotel because it was the cheapest, and that was a mistake. The front desk woman was extremely rude, the bed had stains, and there were bugs all over the room. You couldn't pay me to stay again. DOOOO NOT STAY HERE!
