Tru by Hilton Fayetteville I-95, NC

The shower was fantastic and the hotel itself was very clean. We came through on our way from New York City to Orlando and would stay again. It’s pet friendly, though $75 felt a bit high when other places charge $25-$75, especially since my dog is incredibly clean, barely sheds, and sleeps on the floor. The bed was okay, but I don’t think the mattress had a bed bug cover. Breakfast wasn’t that great, though it is free.

There’s not a lot of room space, but you still get a desk, a seat, hooks for clothes, and a large TV. There aren’t drawers or closets. The bed was clean and comfortable, there were enough towels, the water pressure was good, and the bathroom had room to move, with glass doors and an easy-entry shower stall with hand rails. The rooms are clean, serviceable, and well maintained. Staff are consistently friendly, greeting you with good morning or, on the day I visited, happy mother's day. They make the place feel welcoming. The hot breakfast spread is a step above a lot of hotels I’ve stayed in, with eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, cereal, bagels, pancakes, juice, coffee, and more. If you expect resort amenities in a hotel room, this isn’t for you. For a clean, friendly place with what you need at an affordable rate and a very good breakfast, it works well. I recommend it for quick stays, and the staff are great.

We had a great family dinner at the steakhouse downstairs, with amazing service and live music. The person who booked our reservations was great, too, and made sure our requests were met. We had three rooms for two nights at Tru by Hilton. The new rooms were beautiful and clean, and we enjoyed the pool and the area, with easy access to everything. They don’t clean daily unless you request it, which was fine with us. I’d read some negative reviews and was a little anxious, but we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

The room was clean aside from a tacky, sticky floor, but the furniture was flimsy and the room smelled like pot. Smoke was also drifting into the lobby from an open door to the smoking platform despite the non-smoking property. Be careful with the high curbs at end parking spots, it’s impossible to make the turn without risking vehicle damage. AG laughed when I suggested painting a yellow warning on the curb. It was uphill, so I didn’t see all the scrapes left by other unsuspecting visitors. The lot is shared with Springhill Suites, and the trash pickup at 6AM was noisy. It’s across from the on ramp to 95.
