Super 8 by Wyndham Bellingham Airport/Ferndale

After I couldn’t find an affordable place to stay across the border, I drove back that night and Super 8 came to the rescue. The rooms were clean, the sheets fresh, and the service decent. The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly delicious. I’ll definitely come back another time.

The bed was comfortable and the location convenient, but I wouldn’t stay again. It’s an old, tired motel with no lights at the entrance, and some of the other guests looked sketchy. The desk guy struggled with the process, though he did try and fixed our small issue right away. Breakfast was dismal, so after a coffee we went elsewhere.

The room smelled musty, the lamp shade had what looked like a blood stain, and the fan was obnoxiously loud, as if something was caught inside. There was hair in the tub, the toilet lid caught under the counter, and the handle was hard to flush. The TV remote only partly worked: mute worked, but I couldn’t change the volume, and there were no buttons on the TV. Internet was bad. The pool and hot tub were out of order with no water in either. At breakfast, there was no butter, peanut butter, or jam for toast, the tables were dirty and messy at 7:30 am, and the front desk wasn’t available. I also wasn’t told about the refundable $100 deposit until check-in, and it takes 2-3 business days to get back. When I asked, the front desk offered no customer service, refund, or room upgrade. Of all my stays around the country and at Wyndham properties, this was the worst hotel and the worst service. I’ll be filing complaints with several organizations. This place shouldn’t be in business.

The staff were nice, but there wasn’t much service. The room had greasy marks on the walls and surfaces, the walls were super thin, and the TV didn’t work. The pool was empty, and the breakfast area was so filthy we couldn’t bring ourselves to eat. If you want to sleep at night, go somewhere else unless you’re just coming from a bar to pass out. This place is filthy and dirty. I’d rate it zero if I could. Wyndham, please take your name off this dive.
