The room was in rough shape: tiny ants, a filthy floor, and food sauce on the tables, floor, and walls. Room 124 seemed neglected, with a furry exhaust fan cover and dusty light fixtures. After showering, I scooted my feet from the shower to the far side of the bed, and the towel in the photo shows how dirty they got. I didn't take a relaxing bath because I couldn't feel confident about how clean the tub might be. There was active construction next door, so much for sleeping in. As I left, I saw numerous homeless people at the exit and all along the side of the street. It made me realize this wasn't exactly a great area, and I was surprised nobody tried to mess with the cargo rack on my car's back hitch.

We got a full refund, thankfully, but the room was a mess. The fridge and microwave were dirty, and the drawers were a little dirty too. One bed was broken and stained on the side, the bathroom light wouldn't turn on, and there was BLACK MOLD in the bathroom. They also gave us the wrong bed sizes. The closet was fine, at least. The luggage cart screws were pretty loose too. Don't let the pictures fool you, room 222.

I've never given a review one star before, but this place really doesn't have it together. Check-in took 30 minutes because the woman at the front was rude. In the room, an old moldy smell was coming from the bathroom, and now I'm sick from it. Then I was charged $200 for a smoke detector I didn't take, because they thought I smoked in the room. I have a medical card and smell like marijuana, but that charge is way out of line. Do you charge people just for smelling like cigarette smoke? Thanks, La Quinta. Now my weekend is down $200 and I'm sick.

I stayed only long enough to arrange somewhere else to stay. The musty smell was so strong it clung to my clothes after I left, and the room itself was unacceptable: a black bathtub base and filthy walls. The door was bent inward at the bottom, as if kicked from outside, and even fully shut I could see straight outdoors through the gaps. Someone needs to inspect these room conditions urgently. This location doesn't reflect your company's standards and needs an urgent investigation.
