Wingate By Wyndham - Greenville-Airport

We paid $83 total through the Wyndham app, and it felt like an upscale stay without the upscale price. The hotel had a modern look, was very clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly. We felt safe in the area, with plenty of restaurants close enough to walk to. If we're back in the area, we'd definitely stay here again.

The bathroom had a bug, which I only noticed on our last day, thankfully. My husband and I stayed for the weekend, and it was the worst hotel experience I've had. The air conditioning wasn't working when we arrived, and although the front desk guy came up to fix it, we both woke up sweating later that night. The bed and even the pillows were so uncomfortable. I'd never come back, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room 403 Wingate Windham, February 6 to February 9, 2026. The hallway and room carpets were filthy, with visible grime and slime and a moldy smell. Vacuuming won't be enough, they should be replaced. The room chair was broken, and the microwave was missing its plate until I asked the front desk, who got one from another room. The microwave, refrigerator, and small plastic hot water and coffee maker were all grimy too. Two of the towels were stained. One looked like dried blood and smelled horrible. The room phone didn't work, so I had to call the front desk on my cell to report the shower problem. The showerhead needed replacing, and there was no maintenance person or supervisor on staff. The front desk gentleman kindly came up in the middle of the night to replace it and told me to crank the shower handle out of place so I could shower Saturday night. The continental breakfast was the worst I've ever had: rock-hard muffins and bagels, cold watery scrambled eggs, and only a little oatmeal, put out two packets at a time. If more than one guest wanted oatmeal, there wasn't enough. They also ran out of cream cheese and coffee caps on the first day.

The hotel and room were clearly old, and that's about what we got for the price: a bed and a shower. The shower was rusty, and both the shower and sink took too long to heat up. We paid for a very late checkout and got our receipt on checkout morning, but housekeeping and the front desk still knocked three separate times to ask when we were leaving.
