Snow Peak Inn

We left right away and didn't stay. Before even entering the room we had a bad feeling, and opening the door showed how awful it was. The bed took up nearly the whole room and looked carelessly made. There was a smell of smoke, urine, and other foul things. Even more alarming, we saw what looked like a drug deal in front of the lobby, and an employee turned out to be the recipient. We didn't want to touch anything. I asked to cancel and get a refund, but the owner refused and offered another room after I explained what we'd encountered. I went back to the office three minutes later, and he still wouldn't refund my card, so I said I'd dispute the charge. This was terrible business practice. I can't believe the place is still operating. It's a nightmare.

The staff were really nice and accommodating, and this was definitely the cheaper choice compared with other places nearby. But the rooms were on the dirty side, with old, heavily used sheets and furnishings. In a pinch it worked, and we got what we paid for. If I went back, I'd try to find somewhere a little cleaner.

The heater works really well and the rooms are clean. There's no breakfast, but at $30 for a king-size bed, I can't complain. Decent value for the price, and I'd come back if it stays in the same range.

When you're passing through and just need a bed, this is a good budget choice. It's an older place with a cheap price and friendly staff. The bathroom was clean, though it had some stains, which I expected in an older hotel. I'll be back.
