The Christmas decorations were everywhere when we arrived just before the holiday, and we were greeted so warmly. There was even a plate of homemade cookies waiting in our room. Gene & Bob were wonderful, and breakfast each morning was amazing. Our room was comfortable and had its own key and private bathroom. My fiance loved the place, and we heard about Acorns from a coworker of hers who’s been coming for 6-7 years. We’ll definitely come back. Just watch for the driveway, since it’s easy to drive past.

We shared the two downstairs rooms with another couple, and having a kitchen and living room down there made it feel really comfortable. After visiting Sierra Nevada Brewery, we came back and played cards together. Gene and Bob looked after us so well, and breakfast was stellar, with fun conversation around the table. We had a great time and would definitely stay again.

The personal touches all over the house, including the Disney collections and other memorabilia, made it feel warm and homey. We also liked having a separate room to watch TV, and the bathroom being down the hall from our room somehow added to the feeling of being at home. Gene was a wonderful host, full of information and entertaining when he joined the conversation. And his gourmet breakfasts were terrific.

I mentioned that I play piano, and he invited me to try a beautiful old one I hadn’t seen before. That was one of the many details that made our first B&B stay feel so welcoming. The room was lovely and comfortable, and they worked around my allergies and provided what we needed in Asheville. We felt at home the whole time. We’d stay again, if we weren’t already planning to move to this wonderful city soon. 100/100.

We loved chatting with the other guests over breakfast about our plans for the day. It was such a fun, homey stay, and Gene was the best host. It was nice to meet Bob 😁 and, of course, Winsten. God bless, and thank you!
