Best Western Executive Inn

The indoor pool was closed for renovations, which was disappointing. Still, it was a nice stay, with clean rooms that had what we needed. Breakfast was good: I had a sausage biscuit, and the biscuits were really good. There was also a waffle station. I got an orange, though more fresh fruit choices would have been nice.

The check-in was quick and friendly, and that same clerk helped get the TV working after it showed an offline message. The room smelled dusty when I walked in, so I cleaned the AC filters myself. They were brown, fuzzy, and completely clogged. Worse, I later noticed black slime on the ice machine’s cubes, after I’d already filled a large water bottle with its ice. I left at 6 a.m., upset and without an appetite, and too angry to bring it up with staff. I don’t remember the clerk’s name. I’ve never left a bad review before, which says a lot about how much of a disaster this room felt like. It needs a very deep clean. I’ve done hotel cleaning and private house cleaning for over 40 years, so I know what attention to detail looks like. I’ll never stay with this chain again.

It’s decent value for the price, and breakfast is okay. For an overnight stop where you just need somewhere to rest, this hotel will do. It’s pretty clean, though on my last stay I noticed a couple of small cleanliness problems. I told the front desk, and they took care of them.

A decent choice for arriving late and heading out early. The rooms were okay and breakfast was decent, but there really aren’t many restaurants nearby. I’d give this hotel a solid three stars.
