The room was clean and comfortable, and the morning breakfast staff were helpful and friendly. I had a very nice stay and would definitely return. Thank you for the great service. I'll post the same on google reviews. I didn't get a survey request, but good service deserves recognition too, especially when people are quick to complain. The front desk staff member who checked me in last night welcomed me with a smile like an old friend who'd been away for a while. She checked me in quickly and explained the amenities, which caught me off guard. I was so touched and grateful that, after I cleaned up to get dinner, I came back to thank her and asked if I could bring her something to eat. She smiled warmly and declined. She's definitely an asset for Fairfield. Sorry I didn't note her name, though I'm sure it's easy to figure out. Sam Calderon
The rooms were clean and decent overall, and I felt safe in the parking lot with the police camera nearby. I didn't use the pool, but it looked great. In the evening, take a walk around the west side of the hotel to see some giant cane toads. Breakfast wasn't the best, though I'm always glad when it's included. The eggs were very watery.
The room was great, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was amazing. Despite some of the other reviews, I had a pretty decent stay, actually the best hotel stay I've ever had. Thank you to all the staff. I'll come back to this location if I travel this way again.
We ended up in a regular room with a shower that wasn't accessible, and we only discovered it after going upstairs. Nobody had told me it wasn't an ADA room. I'd been told the ADA bathtub room was unavailable, but there was still a room with an ADA shower. When I explained what we'd been told, the front desk said there was nothing else they could do because they'd already given our reserved room away. I asked about shower chairs, but the attendant didn't know what they were or whether they had any. We stayed here back in February and had reserved the larger ADA room because my fiancé uses a wheelchair. I spoke directly with the hotel in advance to confirm we needed that particular room. We weren't late, either. We checked in right at the scheduled time, yet they'd given our room away and only had non-ADA rooms left of the type we reserved. This was very unprofessional. The staff didn't seem to understand what this can mean for people with disabilities. If an ADA room is booked and confirmed directly with the hotel, they shouldn't change it. People in wheelchairs can't use the other room types.
I found online that several other customers had this happen too. Ending an amazing vacation with $565 taken from me was so disappointing. It feels like the hotel stole the money, and I want it refunded immediately. I stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Homestead/ Florida City on April 7th in room 303. After checkout, I got an emailed bill with an extra $565 charge, even though I'd paid for the lodging through Expedia online. When I called, they said a detector in the room had likely picked up cigarette or vape smoke. I assured the women on the phone that neither my husband, our children, nor I smoke or vape. I asked them to put the money back on my card, but was told the charge was nonrefundable. This is unbelievable and dishonest. I understand if someone actually smoked in the room, but we didn't. Does it detect a hairdryer? I did use one.
