The hotel area is what I liked most, along with the overnight staff member who always greeted my kids and me with a warm smile, a welcoming manner, good conversation, and a real willingness to help. She even remembered where I liked to park. I don't know her name, but she had braids and at least one gold tooth. Thank you to her. The rooms were pretty decent, but the toilets were very dirty in two of the three rooms I used. In one of the two, the tub faucet was loose, and most of the water leaked around the chrome fixture instead of coming from the showerhead. In the third room, a hinge holding the toilet lid was broken. Some front desk staff also had an attitude when speaking with me, which I don't think is needed to make a point. When I reported loud noise from the next-door room during early morning quiet hours, excuses were made instead of promptly addressing how it was disturbing my family and me. I plan to report this to corporate or someone higher up, and hope justice is served.

I had to stay at the Holiday inn express twice because of A/C problems, and Ms.Cystal Jones at the front desk made me feel at home both times. She was so accommodating, and her customer service was a 10/10. I’ll come back for a leisure stay because of her.

My wife and I usually choose a Holiday Inn Express, and this is one of the best we've stayed at. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. A couple of things came up when we first got into our room, but the staff sorted them out quickly. The location was right by where I needed to go, so we didn't have to get back on 55 with all the road construction. Breakfast was great, with plenty of what we wanted. Restaurants, Walmart, and Dollar Tree were close by, and we got everything done on this trip.

I’d rather stay at Hampton Inn & Suites in Ridgeland. This felt like a budget hotel with modern trim, a one-star property with a two-star lobby. The room stayed hot and stuffy no matter how low we set the A/C, and the beds felt smaller than what we booked. I’ll try to avoid it next time we pass through Jackson.

Check-in was easy, the room was clean, and checkout was simple. Staff were very friendly, parking was plentiful, and the continental breakfast was good. There are lots of restaurants close by, and downtown is very near.
