The location was hard to beat, and we were excited for our wedding guests to stay at The Tides Folly Beach. We held our rehearsal dinner there, booked a suite for two nights, and had many guests stay through our room block. My fiancé found the bathroom in our suite hadn't been cleaned properly at check-in. The toilet hadn't been flushed and had diarrhea from a previous guest in it. That was concerning, especially on such an important weekend and after what we'd invested in the stay. We were busy with the wedding events and our guests, so we didn't bring it up then. We left feedback in the post-stay survey, but heard nothing back. We then contacted customer service directly and still got no response. The lack of follow-up after trying twice was just as frustrating as the cleanliness problem. Cleanliness is a basic expectation, especially for a special occasion. I hope they give more attention to housekeeping and communication with guests.

The staff made this anniversary trip special. Harrison carried our bags in and was great to interact with the whole time. Even after several days, he remembered it was our 30th anniversary. He's a real asset, and I hope he makes management one day. Everyone deserves a raise, they're top notch. Check-in and checkout were smooth, and the location was great. The pier was gorgeous and easy to get to from the hotel. Rita's and 23 had amazing food. The outside is beautiful, and the restaurant area has clearly had a lot done to it. Inside the rest of the hotel could use some upkeep. The furnishings are beautiful, but the elevator doors were dirty, tiles in the elevators were cracked, and the ceilings need paint. Caulking around the doorways would help them look cleaner and more in line with the exterior. The beds were so comfortable, though the pillows were terrible, lol. We'd never been to Folly before, and it was a wonderful trip.

I was impressed by how kind and helpful the front desk woman was when I checked in around 6 p.m. yesterday. It was my first visit, and she made the process easy and pleasant. I wish I knew her name. The driftwood decor and comfortable furniture are lovely, and the fragrance when you walk in is excellent. It was a wonderful stay, and I'm already looking forward to coming back.

The sunrise and sunset were beautiful, and the lobby was nice. But the room felt dirty everywhere, especially the floors, so we kept our shoes on the whole time. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling and walls, and the TV was tiny with no options on the remote. I know sand gets everywhere, but I've stayed at grain hotels right on the beach that were gorgeous and immaculately clean, so I know it can be done. Service wasn't great either. For the price, it didn't meet expectations.

The view was breathtaking, and we even got to see the sunrise on the beach. The staff were awesome, and our room was nice and clean, with a comfy bed and pillows. They serve Starbucks coffee that's better than Starbucks! This was hands down my best hotel experience. Love staying here, and we'll definitely be back 🥰 Huge shout out to them ♥️
