Hampton Inn & Suites Folsom

Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, and there's plenty of free parking. The front desk staff were especially pleasant and helpful. The location is convenient, next to Highway 50, about a 15-minute drive from old town Folsom, and close to chain restaurants and Whole Foods. Breakfast was standard but good. I'd stay here again.

Breakfast was good, especially for someone like me who loves a waffle maker. The location is handy for Sutter St and the freeway. We arrived late in the evening and the front desk quickly gave us bottled water to take upstairs. Our room was clean and set to a comfortable temperature. If I'm nitpicking, the bed wasn't very comfortable, and we had to hold the toilet handle down for it to flush. All in all, a good spot.

The people here make a difference. Max has been the night clerk every time I've stayed, and he's friendly, helpful, and personable. The morning team is great too. Unlike many Hamptons, this one has coffee out before 0600, plus hot water for tea at night and fresh coffee that isn't tepid or gross. The little shop is well stocked. I travel three weeks out of every month and have stayed at the Hampton Inn Folsom several times. It's been a good experience each time: quiet, clean rooms, a safe hotel, and a convenient spot near good restaurants and other amenities. The rooms aren't fancy or foo foo, but that's fine. I'll keep coming back when work brings me here.

My main issue, and why I'd give the Hampton only a middling review, is that my room smelled like cigarettes. The staff were friendly and helpful, my colleague and I enjoyed breakfast, and the location worked well for us with plenty of dining nearby.
