Days Inn by Wyndham Fond du Lac

The manager and his son were very cordial. My room was small but comfortable, and surprisingly quiet despite sharing a wall with the pool and hot tub area. The bed felt supportive and very comfortable, and the pillows were the best. It had recently been fully renovated with a nice, higher-end look, including vinyl plank floors and a wood-patterned cement tile bathroom floor.

The AC was so loud I couldn’t use it, and the tiny room made the noise seem even worse. Otherwise, this was a clean, orderly, budget-friendly hotel with a decent pool and hot tub, recent renovations, and friendly staff. I’d stay more often if the AC were quieter.

The location was great and the staff polite, but the hotel was run down. There was someone else’s hair in the hairdryer, which was gross. You have to ask for a coffee maker, and the one I got leaked all over, as did the ice bucket. When we plugged in a phone charger, the lamp went off. A gentleman called me “Mr,” though I’m not one. He said he’d refund the next night if we went through the booking site. We knew the air show was happening, and with somewhere to be by 1, we couldn’t switch hotels in the middle of an out-of-town trip. I hope they improve the service and cleaning and do better about respecting people’s gender.

For my needs, it was a great value. The room was clean, and both the pool and hot tub were very clean too.
