Cobblestone Inn & Suites - Forest City

They’re asking $150 a night for what amounts to a budget motel and budget accommodations. There’s a remodeled hotel just down the street charging 40-50% less. It feels insulting that they think so little of potential customers.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and I’d recommend staying here. I only gave the location four stars because the town is spread out and there are just a few places you can walk to.

The front desk staff were good, but the rooms were a different story. On a 100° day, after I called ahead to check, they put us in a room where the AC didn’t work. I got heat exhaustion and needed somewhere cool, so they moved us. That room smelled awful, like it had flooded, with mildew and damp bedding and everything else. We had to swap out the sheets and blankets so we could sleep. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I stayed for a week, and my room stank and the bed was broken. There was never anyone at the desk to help with it. On my last night I went up several times to ask about checkout after getting drinks and a towel, since they’d only supplied two. Nobody came, so I called instead. The manager yelled at me and accused me of flirting with a staff member, which was ridiculous. Then, because I work construction, he accused all of us of cheating on our wives. The same employee I was supposedly hitting on also yelled about my muddy boots, even though I’d apologized throughout the week and the only mud was on the welcome mat. I’d even cleaned mud off my pants when I came in. I’ve been respectful, and I’m telling my work not to recommend this place. I wouldn’t recommend this chain to anyone.
