Far West RV Park and Cabins

The bed sagged in the middle and squeaked the whole time, and the heater didn’t work, so they gave us a noisy space heater. There was no TV because it had just been removed, no dishes, and no basic amenities. My wife and I had driven for hours to get there, and the check-in situation set a bad tone from the start. Our Expedia booking clearly said 3 p.m. We arrived at 2:05 hoping to get in early, but were told check-in was at 4. When we pointed out the Expedia time, staff said they had called several times and Expedia wouldn’t change it. There was no apology or attempt to help, just what felt like satisfaction in turning us away. We left to kill time, then waited in the parking lot and watched staff ignore the 3 p.m. check-in time posted on their own website. They still wouldn’t let us in before 4, and by then there was a line. It felt like control mattered more than the policy. We’re low-maintenance travelers, but being unable to rely on the listed check-in time, then seeing staff double down instead of helping, made for a disappointing stay. We would have left if anywhere else had been available.

At $230 a night, this tiny room felt completely overpriced. The floor was dirty, there were barely any outlets, and the place felt very basic. The microwave was broken, the AC was noisy and didn’t cool the room, and the bathroom light was out. We lost a lot of time waiting for repairs, which threw off our plans and even made it hard to have proper meals. This was the second most expensive room on my whole road trip, yet every other hotel I stayed in was larger, cleaner, better equipped, and cheaper. I’ve been to 20 countries and never left a negative hotel review before, but this stay was so uncomfortable that I feel I need to warn people away.

We booked the “Luxury 5th Wheel Camper” for one night last weekend, and were surprised by an unexplained $250 charge. When I called, the office said it was because pets weren’t allowed in the RV. At check-in, though, I’d told the receptionist about our dog and said he would sleep in our car, not enter the RV. She said that was okay and never mentioned an extra fee. We kept the dog out for the entire stay. When we called about the charge, the front desk said they’d been told there was a dog and couldn’t do anything about it. I’d give zero stars if I could. The management was terrible, and so was the RV. The website says the RV has a fully furnished kitchen with cookware and silverware, but all we found was a microwave and fridge. When we called, the receptionist said the stove wasn’t working. The whole RV also smelled bad from the toilet. This was a terrible experience for $200 a night. I’d tell anyone with another option to avoid this place.

We were denied a refund for the 5th wheel rental, even though there was no hot water, no furnace, and no working TV. The manager or owner never responded. This place is a total rip-off. People need to hear about it.
