Hyatt Place Cincinnati Airport / Florence

I chose this Hyatt for its location and the Hyatt name, but breakfast was a letdown: the eggs, sausage links and patties, and French toast strips were all microwaved. I know how eggs should be cooked. The pool was another problem. There were floaters, lots of hair, no skimmer, a plugged drain, and standing water. The cleaning crew, though, were very helpful.

The room's A/C worked properly, so no cold hotel night during a snowstorm this time. The rooms are spacious, and the hotel is very well kept, perhaps recently built or renovated. Check-in was a breeze. I booked in the Hyatt app on my phone about two hours before arriving, and they already knew who I was and had my information on file. There's ample parking and a couple of restaurant options nearby. This Hyatt Place is a hidden gem, and a pretty good choice just outside Cincinnati. I'd definitely stay again.

The pool is extra nice, and our room was clean with very comfortable beds, though it showed some wear. The layout has the usual odd toilet and shower closet arrangement for a mid-range Hyatt Place. What really impressed us was check-in and checkout, the best I've had at a Hyatt Place. They greeted us by name, thanked us for being Hyatt Rewards members, offered waters, and had already read and acted on our room location request. I've never had that before. I was worried by earlier reviews, but you can ignore the low ones. Be aware that the reservation lists an $8 nightly parking fee, which seems odd if you're not leaving a car while flying out of the airport. They waived our fee. Five stars means I'd choose to stay here again.

The whole place was dirty and smelled bad. There was ground-in dirt in the carpets, and the elevator was dirty and stank. The room smelled, too. They charge for parking because it's an airport hotel, but it's nowhere near the airport. Don't waste your money here. Stay at the Hilton or Marriott down the street.
