Fairway Inn Florence

The room was dirty, with dirt on the floor, and after just 1 hour there my husband, kids, and I had all been bitten by bugs. We packed up and left. They keep passing me off to someone else when I ask for a refund, and seem unprofessional and inconsiderate. Then they said they’d stripped the room and found no bugs, but the bites on our skin and what happened in the bed say otherwise. I’d recommend driving to Carrollton ky, which isn’t far, and getting a room there.

We booked two rooms, and both were disgusting. The first had blood and urine soaked into the sheets and mattress, bugs crawling around, and filthy surfaces. The second, supposedly a non smoking room, reeked of smoke. Its bedding had stains and cigarette burns, the furniture was filthy, and there were more bugs. Calling it dirty doesn’t cover it. It was a biohazard. When I reported the conditions, the clerk saw them herself and confirmed how nasty the place was. She wrote a note promising a refund because it was that bad. But the rude owner refunded only one room, refused to refund the other, called me a liar, and hung up on me. The owner was worse than the rooms. This place is run by someone who doesn’t care about safety, cleanliness, or honesty, and seems more interested in keeping your money than offering a place fit for people to sleep. It’s a disgrace that people are allowed to stay here. Save yourself the trauma and stay far away from this filthy dump and its shady, arrogant owner. Honestly, the health department should shut it down. I’d post pictures of the nasty rooms if I could.

The older ladies at the front desk were pretty nice, and the breakfast was okay if you like cereal, muffins, or a bagel. The place was surprisingly pretty clean, despite stains all over the chairs, sheets, and towels, and cigarette smell everywhere. The bedroom flooring seems to have been updated recently, but that looked like about the only update the rooms have had in a while. I’ve stayed in better hotels for less, but there aren’t many choices if you’re going to the casino across the street and the other places are booked.

The rooms have updated flooring and furniture, and everything was clean. We got a comfortable night’s sleep, enjoyed the continental breakfast, and found all the staff incredibly kind and helpful. Great value for the stay. We’d definitely come back.
