The only easy part was check-in. The desk staff were polite and got me through quickly, but the room and breakfast made this a pretty miserable one-night stay. There was a strong smell as soon as I walked in, a mix of old smoke, mildew, and a sweet chemical odor. Opening the window and running the AC didn't clear it, and it was hard to relax or breathe comfortably. The bathroom had lots of hair across the shower floor, tiles, and tub sides. The sink faucet was odd, and the water pressure kept switching between a trickle and normal. Breakfast was chaotic and looked unclean. Staff seemed overwhelmed, and cleanup and restocking were slow. The basic continental food was poorly presented and not appetizing. One of my more unpleasant hotel stays in a long time.

I'm pretty low maintenance when I travel. The beds were soft and clean, the shower pressure was good, and breakfast was genuinely solid. I also liked having a ceiling fan, which I haven't seen at other hotels in this price range. The rooms feel dated, though, like they haven't been redone since the 90s.

The people serving breakfast in the morning were really friendly, but I can only give the place three stars because it was unhygienic. I stayed for a week, and the TV didn't work. The curtains were broken and the mattress was stained. They made the bed, but my sheets weren't changed during that whole week.

We've used this place for years as our stop on the drive south. It's in a handy spot near shops and restaurants, and the service has always been friendly. This time, though, the room wasn't as clean as before, and the rooms are starting to show their age and feel below par.

I come here at least once a year to visit family from out of state, and the location works well, close to the freeway and grocery stores. Service is always good. This time my room was missing body soap, and the bottom of the shower was quite stained. Those were my only complaints.
