The service was excellent from the reservation to checkout, and the breakfast was ready on time. Everything was clean, too. It’s hard to find this kind of care in hospitality, so this was a welcome stay. I’d booked two rooms for a work trip after reading how Audra, the Manager, responded to online reviews. She seemed to take pride in the job and often spoke about her team. At check-in, she remembered my name from our emails and said she was sure we’d be well looked after. She was filling in for a sick colleague and was about to leave, but the whole staff proved her right. Krista handled a rush at the desk while juggling several check-ins, phone calls, and questions from current guests. She made it look easy, while still greeting everyone. She even helped an older gentleman connect the Bluetooth speaker he uses to sleep. The hotel was busy on Monday evening, and I can see why people come back for this level of service. The room was spacious and the bed felt great. Breakfast the next morning really hit the spot: sausage gravy over real scrambled eggs, with a biscuit and sausage.

I checked in around 6:30 pm on 2/13 after an eight-hour drive from Ga. This was my second stay because the hotel is close to the facility I visit and reasonably priced. I won’t get any rest tonight either, and I have another eight-hour drive tomorrow. The first room had a bathroom light that was out, so I went back to tell staff. In the second room there was a bug on the bedspread. The third had a condom wrapper on the nightstand, and in the fourth, the ceiling squeaked whenever someone walked. I got no sleep last night. This is unprofessional and unacceptable. I’ll call to speak with the manager on 2/16.

The breakfast and gym were better than I expected. Staff were kind, and the lobby water feature and nature photos in the rooms looked much nicer than the generic art you see in other places. The tub was the dealbreaker. It wouldn’t drain or switch fully to the shower, so water kept coming from both the showerhead and tub faucet and left me standing ankle-deep. This was room 214, but it seemed so badly neglected that I doubt it’s the only one with this problem. On our way back through Forrest City, we paid more to stay somewhere else and give up the rugged charm for drains that work.
