Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Ft. Atkinson, WI

I’ve stayed here several times over the last 3.5 years, and each visit seems better. The whole staff is consistently nice and accommodating. Kendra has been a great addition, especially helpful with whatever you need, including restaurant suggestions.

WEDDINGS BEWARE. Our group booked three nights and filled over 80% of the hotel. Thursday and Friday went fine. Josh was a phenomenal bartender, the front desk and service crew were as expected, and breakfast and its staff were great. Saturday night, our bus got back from the venue around 12am after the wedding. We’d just had a 20 minute ride and needed a moment in the lobby to decompress and regroup. Other guests were there too, but the front desk woman told us to go to our rooms and called the police within five minutes. We went upstairs because we had no other option. She could have offered the conference area briefly so we could gather ourselves away from the lobby, if it was closed. The police were called twice. When they arrived, they seemed to think it was a joke too, but still had to separate the group. After paying for multiple nights, this was a terrible experience. I’ve never encountered such unprofessional behavior at a hotel. She seemed power hungry and clearly had no place in hospitality.

The place was modern, updated, and clean. Breakfast was the usual hotel spread: scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles you make yourself, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, cereal, bread, juice, and coffee. The blueberry and chocolate chip muffins were delicious. I would have preferred fruit like bananas or apples, but the prepackaged fruit cocktail cups they had weren’t good. The room cost a little more than we usually pay for this kind of stay, but we’ll stay here again next time we visit Fort Atkinson, WI.

The hotel and room were very nice and clean. The hot breakfast had scrambled eggs, sausage, diced potatoes, and taco shells with salsa and cheese. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, though, and I can’t see what makes this worth paying an average of $30-$40 more per night than the competitor across town.
