Comfort Inn Wytheville - Fort Chiswell

We had a good setup for our family of four: two beds and a pullout, all clean and comfortable, though the room looked a little worn. Staff were attentive and clearly take pride in the place. The coffee was always stocked, and we appreciated the lemon and cucumber water. For the price, this was one of my best stays and a really strong value. The hot tub was cooler than the pool and felt more like a shallow pool, which might suit kids. The fitness room had good free weights, but the treadmill wasn't working and there was no sign to explain whether that was temporary. Breakfast was typical for this price range, mostly processed food, though the fruit and hard boiled eggs were decent healthier options. It's not a luxury hotel, but it delivers for the price. Clearer signs and removing or closing amenities that aren't working properly would make it a five star stay. I'd definitely return and recommend it to families or anyone after good value and hardworking staff.

The room had a mini fridge that ran all night, and I couldn't unplug it. Still, the staff were friendly and the place was decently clean and maintained. The windows open, and the HVAC was simple to use. Good value, and I'd stay again.

The bed was excellent, with phenomenal linens, and there was plenty of hot water with good pressure. The staff were pleasant, and breakfast was free, plentiful, hot, and had a great selection. I booked mainly for the indoor pool and hot tub after a 350 mile drive, hoping they'd help my back. The hot tub was cold and broken, while the pool was very warm and seemed over chlorinated or high in chemicals. The sofa fabric was ripped, bathroom tile was coming loose, and the floors were so thin I could hear someone above me running around like a marathon.

The room was quiet and comfortable, and the location worked well. Staff were nice, and breakfast was standard for this type of hotel. Someone kept it clean and well stocked, and I saw her tell another guest they could take their time even after breakfast hours had ended. There was a soft spot in the floor between the beds, and the shower needs updating because water sprayed past the curtain. I'd stay again.
