Homewood Suites by Hilton Fort Collins

I booked a month ahead, but the weather on 12.06.25 made it impossible for us to stay. I called to cancel more than 48 hours beforehand, although I’d been told only 24 hours’ notice was needed. They still charged my account. When I called again, the employee said my booking required 48 hours’ notice. I said I had canceled within that window, and she asked me to leave a voicemail for the manager. The manager never called back. I called today, and now they say the reservation required 21 days’ notice. So the cancellation deadline changed three times, apparently to avoid refunding me? That’s cute. I hope people read this and choose another hotel. The manager wouldn’t even get on the phone with me and made the receptionist pass along information, which should have been the manager’s job. They should be ashamed of themselves.

The pool is one of our family’s favorite parts of our annual New Year’s getaway, so finding out on check-in day that it was closed was a real letdown. We’d booked the rooms in early December. When we called to ask what pool arrangements the hotel could offer, the employees were hostile and rude. They wouldn’t adjust anything or move our reservations to another Hilton. I’ve been a Hilton Honors member for years and have never been treated this badly by staff. Stacy was awful and left my daughter in tears. We will never stay at this hotel again, and may not return to a Hilton at all. The rude, nasty treatment made the whole experience nightmarish.

When a flood forced my mom, my nine-year-old, and me out of our apartment during repairs, the two-queen mini apartment was a great substitute for home. Having a separate room let my mom go to bed when she wanted while my child and I stayed up, and gave my child space to play while we watched a movie. The game room could use updating, and the pool was unfortunately being renovated. There’s a park nearby, and Safeway and Dollar Tree are right across the street. Breakfast was the same each morning, so on the first day I made four country breakfast burritos and saved two for my daughter and me the next morning before she went to school.

We had a great view from the windows, and the suite was spacious and clean. The dresser drawers kept sliding open on their own, maybe the furniture is worn, or maybe we had ghosts. The bigger hassle was the door lock. We got stuck out in the hallway for quite a while, and after breakfast maintenance had to override it to let us back in. The front desk staff were kind and tried to help, but the delay made us late leaving for the airport and added some stress.
