Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Fort Dodge by IHG

The hotel looks very nice, but my daughter and her family were refused a stay because they’re from Fort Dodge. She had booked so her daughter could swim for her birthday. Later, my daughter from Colorado prepaid for a room, but because she has dual residence, they demanded a significant rate increase and then still wouldn’t let her stay. They also kept her money and told her to go through the third party for a refund. Very poor hospitality and a poor reflection on our town.

We were visiting family for a special event when they canceled my reservation without telling me before we arrived. The receptionist was rude and dishonest, claiming she’d refunded the money to my account when she hadn’t. It took a lot of effort to get my money back. Awful experience.

For business trips in the area, the location is hard to beat, with a restaurant nearby and the local FedEx station just a short walk away. I know it costs more than twice as much as other options around here, but if you want comfort that feels even remotely like home, stay here. Unless home is a third-world country, you’ll regret choosing elsewhere.

Great price, really clean and quiet, and the customer service was fantastic. Best hotel breakfast I’ve had.
