Ocean Beach Club Hotel

Several dogs had peed in the common area by the artificial bushes outside. We went in to get a mop to clean up. Whenever our service animal had an accident in a common area, we cleaned it up ourselves, yet the manager still threatened us. He was aggressive and unprofessional. Our dog was never left alone in the room, since he goes everywhere with us for medical reasons. The hotel's response to our previous review made it seem like they didn’t care about our concerns. After the manager got aggressive, we felt so uncomfortable that we left and booked across the street at OCEAN MANOR BEACH RESORT. We had zero problems there and stayed another week. Everyone loved our 10 year old service animal. It’s a much nicer hotel overall, especially the staff and management.

We used the day rate after a cruise, before a late flight, and it was comfortable for resting a few hours. The pool was good, with comfy cabanas, and there’s a mini kitchen setup. It’s clean but a little dated, a solid budget option. The cleaning smell was strong when we arrived, though it faded after a couple of hours. The front desk staff were very nice and helped us sign up for an affordable airport ride service.

The pool kept us occupied while we waited, since our room wasn’t ready when we arrived. But using the restroom required a single shared pass from the front desk. My daughter urgently needed to go once, and staff wouldn’t let her because someone else had the pass, even though the bathroom was empty. They refused to give us another one. The staff were rude and dismissive throughout, the rooms were dirty, and the place felt like a run down motel. Other guests were loud and disruptive, and the online photos badly misrepresented the property. I checked an air vent with a flashlight and found what looked like years of dust and debris. Basic supplies were lacking too. Several snacks were out of stock, and when my child wanted ramen, a staff member said they had no fork or spoon. We’d received utensils the day before, but she wouldn’t check and just repeated that they had none. Poorly managed and maintained, frustrating at every turn. I’d strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

The room was clean and nicely arranged, but the lighting was very dim and felt depressing. Service was fine, and when our hair dryer stopped working after we changed rooms because of flights and added a day, they thankfully fixed it. The website made the beach seem very close, which wasn’t the case, and we were also given wrong directions to get there. Still, it’s a nice hotel for a few days.
