Pelicanstay in W Hotel Ft. Lauderdale

I never even went there, but they kept my $1,300.00. I canceled within the allowed timeframe, yet they still charged my card and have held onto the money for almost three months. I wouldn't do business with Pelican stay. It's a shady operation. All their offices are in the Philipines, and nobody cares enough to talk to you. I'm warning you, this is an illegal place and they won't provide any service.

They canceled my Pelican Stay reservation without telling me that my credit card hadn't gone through, or even making a courtesy call to check the card details. When I spoke to customer service, the woman was no help and didn't try. She wouldn't even take my card over the phone. Really disappointing, especially as it was for my wife's birthday weekend.

The water in the shower took a while to heat up and the pressure was very low. I let the Pelicanstay reps know and assume it can be fixed. Our trip was short, so it wasn't a major issue. The tub beside the bed was amazing and relaxing. The unit was beautiful and had everything we needed, as did the resort. From the room, the view was mostly of the intercostal, with a clear ocean view too. Both were lovely. With the weather we had, we could see the sunset and part of the sunrise. The beach was just across from the hotel, clean and beautiful. The pool was beautiful, with good food and drink options at expected prices that weren't too high. The resident pool was quiet and worked perfectly as the sun moved west and we wanted to stay out longer. Food and drinks were available there too. The lounge chairs weren't as nice as at the main pool, but were just as good. The clean gym had plenty of machines and equipment, including DBs, though no weightlifting area, and we could get a good workout in. Parking plus the resort fee felt a little pricey, but valet brought the car quickly. Street parking is an option if you're willing to use the app and add money every few hours. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout. It was an awesome resort and we'd definitely stay again.

I didn't enjoy my stay, and I only stayed through checkout because the place was already prepaid. I have a one out of five guest rating for it and won't return to this property. I'm not sure I'd give the company's other properties another chance either. The master bed was worn out and sagged underneath me, as if it was missing slats, so I woke with back pain. The second bedroom's sheets had dirt and hair on them, as though they hadn't been washed after the previous guest. The bathrooms hadn't been cleaned either. There was urine on the master bathroom toilet seat when I arrived. There was no working internet, so I had to buy a Sprint mobile internet plan and device to work from the apartment. The only working TV was in the living room. Its remote had no batteries, and there was no cable, just a Roku device. I had to connect it to my mobile hotspot. Noise from other apartments was moderate, especially at night. I'm sorry to say this stay was a disappointment. I booked at the Marriott Next Door, where I should have stayed from the first day.
