Hyatt Place Fort Myers/at The Forum

American canceled my flight, so I needed a hotel quickly. This one was close enough and suited what I needed. Mara at the front desk was really sweet and personable, and made sure I got what I’d requested. I had a dish that would spoil if it wasn’t kept frozen, so she took it upon herself to make sure it stayed safe in the freezer.

I’m a Globalist and have come to expect Hyatt’s usual high standards, but this hotel completely missed the mark. We stayed overnight after a late flight before starting our vacation the next day. The rooms were disgusting: stains on every towel, old carpets covered in stains, and dirty beds and couches with stains. Wallpaper was peeling everywhere. This is well below the Hyatt standard. It’s the worst Hyatt I’ve stayed at, and I’ll never return. Management needs corporate to step in and save this property.

The lobby has a nice interior design, but don’t let that fool you. Garbage cans in the lobby and on the floors were overflowing, the hallway carpets were dirty, and the room carpets were much worse. The towels were stained and didn’t seem to have been washed properly. If you care about cleanliness, take it from me and don’t stay here.

The rooms have plenty of space, but they’re showing their age. The carpet was stained, the tub and shower were chipped, and there were bugs in the bathroom. The windows are noisy and single-paned, and the in-room safe stayed broken even after 14 days. Housekeeping came only every third day, did a poor job, and left us with torn towels. It was an okay stay, though the cleanliness and upkeep need work.
