Rodeway Inn Fort Pierce

I’ve stayed at this Rodeway twice now, and the good things stood out even more on my return visit. I’m a Choice Gold Member and found it when looking for an inexpensive, clean stop between Palm Beach and the Orlando station. I come to Palm Beach for a longer stay each spring, and usually take the Amtrak Auto train from my home in Virginia to bring my car down. I used to travel in a sleeper with dining and valet, but it costs much more than a coach seat. My wife said one overnight trip was enough, so after checking out this morning I dropped her at PBI airport and drove toward Orlando airport. I like owner-managed places, and this family lives on site. They’re a hard-working, pleasant immigrant success story, with family members around, and the owner remembered me. The first time I loved the clean room and good price, though I arrived late and left early, so I saw little beyond that. This visit I arrived early and got checked in right away. Since I had plenty of leftovers from the resort, the microwave, fridge, and ice machine came in handy. The front desk also had plastic utensils. Discount hotels often seem to turn over guests daily, but arriving at noon I noticed many people staying several nights. My guess is there’s a good mix of longer-term guests and overnight visitors like me. The public space is sparse, but felt safe, and the other guests seemed mostly families or couples. It’s not beachfront Palm Beach, but it’s a good stepping stone that won’t break the bank. For a longer stay, nothing is far away. This week people were talking about watching Artemis II take off for the moon from nearby Cape Canaveral. Still, there isn’t much within easy walking distance, so you’ll need to drive, though parking is plentiful. Keep up the good work. If this is what you need, take it.
