Motel 6 Fort Worth, TX - Downtown East

The pictures in the listing don't look like the room or motel we got. I have no idea where those photos were taken. The bed was painfully uncomfortable, and its comforter had around 100 burn holes. There were roaches crawling on the door and wall when we entered. The room also reeked of smoke, weed, feet, and something else, and the water barely reached lukewarm with almost no pressure. The walls had some kind of nasty residue on them, possibly from a cough or something sexual. Nothing about the stay was refundable. Also, at checkout, the woman took my phone because I couldn't understand her, deleted my earlier bad review and pictures, and posted a five-star review for herself. Absolutely crazy. Look at the earlier reviews and photos, heed the warning, and stay away. Good luck.

The room itself was fine for sleeping, and that was about the only good part. The location felt sketchy. I asked if it was safe, and the desk worker paused before nodding, which didn't exactly reassure me. The front desk person was incredibly rude, and when I called about the charges, she hung up. I called back to ask for a manager and got hung up on again. The fourth floor lets people smoke weed, which might explain some of the five-star reviews. If you vape, I'd ask for a regular room. Communication goes a long way. And the reply to my review must have been a joke. She was there and will keep running the desk like it's ruining her life. Do better.

We'd already paid for the week, or I would have left. I stood there asking for more than ten minutes about the coin machine, but no one would answer. It doesn't give the right change, and staff says it isn't theirs while refusing to tell me whose it is. Funny that they'll reply here but won't speak to guests in person. The staff is the rudest I've dealt with. Contact Motel 6 corporate if this happens to you. They get in touch with her, and maybe that will change her attitude. There are plenty of other hotels with better staff and accommodations.

I arrived around midnight, and the person who checked me in was helpful. Checking out the next morning was a different story. The woman seemed reluctant to return my $20 deposit when I handed back the key. She looked mean and didn't smile once.
