SpringHill Suites by Marriott Fort Worth Historic Stockyards

We stayed Friday to Sunday. The room was nice, but our truck was broken into Saturday night. We paid for valet because it was more convenient with our toddler, and expected the vehicles to be watched. Instead the truck window was shattered, and it seemed the valet, staff, and security weren’t watching the cars overnight. The men working there gave us rags to clean glass out of our baby’s car seat, and that was all. The police didn’t do much, and the hotel didn’t offer anything or reimburse the valet fee. We aren’t local, so we had to drive home with a broken window. At over $300 a night, I didn’t expect our vehicle to be broken into. I’ll never stay here again.

We planned to stay two nights, but our usual Drover Hotel in the stockyard was sold out because of a wedding. We like marriot, and I usually book through the bonvoy app, so we decided to try this place. It cost over $500 a night, not cheap, but we gave it a try. The location and room were good. Breakfast was impossible to eat: there were too many people, everything was empty, and there weren’t any tables when we went at 9am. Worse, a leaking noise above our room went on all night, so we didn’t sleep at all. We told a woman at the front desk, and she said she’d let someone know. When we returned around 3:30pm, the noise was still coming and going, so we packed up and left. At checkout, the woman at the desk told me they’d charge us for the next night anyway, though I hadn’t asked for anything. She was very rude. We paid $535 for one night, and I feel like I threw $1,200 away. Horrible customer service, one of the three worst marriot stays we’ve had. After the hotel responded, I can only say again: horrible customer service.

The Stockyard area is expensive, but we felt this hotel was worth the cost and would stay again. Parking is on site but costs $15 per day, even for self parking, which didn’t seem too bad. The property was very well maintained, the rooms were clean and modern, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I was surprised the reviews were so mixed.

The front desk service was a mess, with staff seeming either untrained or completely out of their depth. The suite itself felt bare and lifeless, and seeing a Marriott property this drab was disappointing. I wish I’d booked somewhere else, but it was too late. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
