Comfort Inn & Suites Redwood Country

The suite we got was surprisingly spacious and cost the same as a regular room. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, and the tropical plants made the pool area stand out. Breakfast was standard, and there’s a brewery across the street. We ended up at Comfort Inn because flooding had closed the northbound highway to Eureka, so it worked out as a comfortable, practical place to wait. The front desk was abrupt and rude when I first asked a question, though the interaction improved after I booked. A very slow Shell EV charger next door was useful while we parked for the delay.

The staff really made the stay for me. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and they answered my questions and provided what I needed. I was recovering from an injury, so they gave me an extra pillow for support. The room was very clean and large, with a river view, and it was stocked well enough that my husband and I didn’t need to ask for more towels during our few days there. The water was hot with great pressure. We watched the end of sunset warm from our room, looking over the river. It’s a good base for exploring Humboldt county, with easy highway access and close enough to town for groceries, but tucked away from loud traffic. The neighborhood felt safe, and the hot tub’s powerful jets were great. Breakfast was a little above average for a continental breakfast. My only small comment is that the TV remote was slow and may need new batteries. I’m sure they’d have brought some right away if I’d asked. It was a fantastic value with a beautiful view. A good team makes all the difference.

Sam was exceptionally hospitable and provided great service. For a last-minute stay, this went well beyond what I expected: a big, clean room and a great breakfast.

Julia was so kind, professional, and helpful. After a very long day driving for work, she got me into my room quickly and helped me fix a tech issue with the TV. I’m glad I met her. She has a bright future ahead.
