Red Roof Inn Franklin, KY

We had to stay here after the 2026 ice storm took out our utility pole, and we knew we’d be without power for a while. Having the larger mini fridge was a big help since we could keep a decent amount of food in the room instead of ordering takeaway every meal. We also brought both dogs for a reasonable price, and there were always bags at the dog waste station, including the time I’d forgotten ours in the room. Big trash bins at the hallway ends meant food waste didn’t have to stay in the room. The room was cleaner than some high-end places I’ve stayed, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was impressively clean. The free coffee was always gone when we went for some. I also wished there were more towel hooks than the single one on the bathroom door, and the toilet should have a lid since the only toiletries shelf is open above it. I nearly dropped my hairbrush in. Still, we had a great stay.

Easy to get on and off the interstate, and there’s plenty to eat nearby, with more within a mile. Nice room, good TV, AC and water pressure. The property is beautifully kept, with a nice grassy area for our pups. Having a great stay so far.

The room was clean and comfortable, with fresh sheets and towels, a decent bed, and a good selection of TV channels. The mini fridge, microwave, and AC were useful little extras. The inn is worn and well-used, but that’s what I expected for an affordable place to sleep, and it delivered what I needed and then some. I’d give it 5/5. I don’t get all the hate. I stayed at this Red Roof Inn recently for a night off the road. They were very pet-friendly, with no hassle about bringing an animal along. I didn’t have my dog on this most recent visit, but I brought him the last time and it was easy. For a cheap, no-frills stay, Red Roof Inn does the job.

The laundry room was disgusting, and the only ice machine is in there. The TVs barely worked, too. In our first room, we found roaches in the dresser drawers and crumbs and trash around the dresser under the TV while unpacking. We showed the front desk a photo of the roaches, and they moved us to the room across the hall. I’d give zero stars if I could.
