Comfort Inn Frederick - Ballenger Creek

The staff were helpful and friendly, and my room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. It's a pleasant chain hotel with convenient access to downtown Frederick.

The room they moved me to had a mildew smell, large cobwebs in the corners, stains on the carpet and sofa, and a rusty, moldy shower. It was also almost out of facial tissue. They called this an upgrade after the first room, where ketchup was splattered on the wall and headboard and there was a large carpet stain. Are the cleaning staff being trained and managed? Neither room was clean.

There was nothing interesting nearby, and the hotel had no maps of the surrounding area. The pool is in a separate building across the street. If all you need is a bed and free breakfast, that may be enough, but this was a total bust for anything else. Choosing this inland desert with Copilot was a major mistake on my part.

Good location, and the hotel was clean and nice. It does show its age in places, but it's still an affordable, pleasant stay.
