Days Inn by Wyndham Fredericksburg North

I stayed here sometime last year while traveling for work and checked in again this time. I don’t know why it has 2 stars. The rooms are spotless, and there’s a big parking lot. The first room smelled like some kind of animal urine, so I asked the front desk for air freshener. The night guy with the long hair was amazing and switched me to another room. Soft beds, nice flat screen TV, and a nice hot shower. Can’t go wrong.

Parking was easy, the Wi-Fi worked great, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The room was clean and comfortable, and the lobby smelled amazing when I walked in. For the price, it felt like great value. The bed was a little too firm for me, though, and I woke up achy. That may just be personal preference. I had a really good stay at Days Inn by Wyndham Fredericksburg North, would recommend it and stay again.

The staff were great about moving us as soon as he saw the rag I’d used to wipe down the counter. But the next room wasn’t any better. I bought my own cleaning supplies and did the bathroom and floors myself. My kids’ white socks were black after they ran around on the floor, and before I cleaned, the smell was outrageous. There was still dirt on the floor, like housekeeping didn’t know what they were doing. We were there for a football tournament, and without that, I never would have stayed. The TV channels were really fuzzy too.

The room reeked of cigarette smoke, really badly. I couldn’t sleep all night. By 2:30 AM, I gave up, went outside, and slept in my car. I’m definitely never coming back to this hotel.
