Silver Collection Hotel

I drove nine hours and arrived at 10 pm, exhausted and unable to safely drive any farther. The room I'd been moved to was dirty too, and I was told to leave right away or my card would be deactivated. There was no staff on site to help, and I was told there were no other rooms available, so I felt stranded with the choice of sleeping in my car or staying there until I could drive again. I asked for a clean room after finding stains on the couch, a broken bathroom door, green mildew around the toilet, hair in the bathroom, and a wet dog smell in the original room. The replacement room next door had the same smell and was also dirty. Its shower tile had chunks missing, and there was still that green stuff around the toilet, though less of it. I also saw what looked like a pubic hair on the shower head. The hotel AI Ivy told me to leave in the middle of the night and said my key card would be revoked. When I called to explain that I needed a refund, the numbers disconnected. The only other contact was email, and no one has replied. I would avoid this place like the plague.

The rooms were very nice. Check-in was completely contactless, which might be tricky if you're not used to it. Breakfast was free, but it was at the clubhouse about a quarter mile away.

We were in town for the Marine Corps Half Marathon, and the hotel was literally 150 feet from the start and finish line. The room had a full kitchen and washer and dryer, which I hadn't even realized, and felt more like a nice modern apartment than a hotel. It's clean, cute, updated, and I liked using the mobile key. The shower drips, and you can hear other guests through the walls pretty easily, but those are minor issues. I can't believe it doesn't have a perfect five-star rating. We'll try to book here each year for the Marathon.
